Do Reserved Instances purchased through CSP work the same as ones bought directly?

Yes — technically and functionally, there's no difference in how the reservation applies discounts to your usage. The only difference is the purchasing and billing path (through your partner vs. direct to Microsoft), not how the reservation itself behaves against your Azure resources.
