NCE pricing and the older legacy CSP model aren't directly one-to-one — NCE introduced the term-based structure (monthly vs. annual pricing) that didn't exist in the legacy model, where pricing was generally flat regardless of commitment length.
General pattern
- Legacy CSP: simpler, no term commitment, but Microsoft has been phasing this model out for most products in favor of NCE.
- NCE: monthly terms cost more per seat than annual terms, but offer more flexibility.
If you're still on legacy CSP licensing for any products, it's worth checking with your partner whether a migration to NCE is required or recommended, since Microsoft has been steadily moving products onto the NCE platform.
